Family of FOUR!

On June 9th we got up early and my mother in law, Patsy, came over to the house to wait for Remington to wake up. I called EIRMC to check and see if they had a room ready for me. They did, and so we packed up the truck and headed to the hospital. I was a little bit more calm this time because I felt like I knew what to expect.
We got there around 7 am and by 8:30 I was hooked up to my IV. I was actually already having contractions before they even started the Pitocin!
So the waiting game started! Honestly, my contractions were not even that horrible. Around 9:45, my Dr. came in and broke my water. At 10:30 they said that I could get my epidural if I wanted. I was only dialated to a 3 and my contractions didn't really hurt (at least they weren't as bad as I had remembered with Remi. Fair enough, I was in labor for 16 HOURS with Remi.)
The epidural was what I was most afraid of this time for some reason. I was shaking terribly!
The anesthesiologist was really nice and joked around, making me relax a little bit. He talked me through the whole process and explained what he was doing. I don't know if I liked this or not! ha ha!
Soon enough it was in and we were ready to start waiting again.
Eli and I had fun chatting and laughing together. I actually took a little cat nap a few times too.

Each hour or so the nurse would come in to check me. They had a heart rate monitor on my belly to make sure her heartbeat was good. She wiggled so much that they had to keep moving it and putting it back on. I was progressing kind of slow and just really wanted her to be here already. I had a feeling it would be another really long labor just like Remi.

The nurse came in around 5pm and checked me. I was finally to a 4!! She left, and Eli and I both started to doze off a little bit. I noticed that I was starting to feel some pain every time I had a contraction. My epidural was wearing off, but they couldn't up the dosage very much because it was making my blood pressure drop!

All of a sudden a contraction came and I felt tons of pressure and felt like I really needed to push! I called the nurse and she came in and checked (this was about 20 minutes after she checked last) and I was at an 8!!! She went to call the doctor to tell him how I was progressing, and once again on my next contraction, I really needed to push. I almost couldn't stop myself from pushing. She checked again 2 minutes later and I was at a 9! Two more minutes later and I was at a 10! The doctor asked if I could hold off until 6pm but there was no way! He came in and I immediately started to push. My epidural had worn off completely and I could definitely feel her coming ready or not! I pushed a couple of times and I could feel her shoulder and legs and arms all come out.  I pushed maybe 5 times total and at 5:29 pm my beautiful baby girl Brixton Lyla Coon came into this world!
Eli said I was squeezing him saying. “I feel everything! I can feel everything!!” haha Yep I felt it all!
Right when they laid her on my chest, Eli said, Savanah, LOOK! I opened my eyes and there she was! Her cute little cry was so sweet and I just held her and said how much I loved her. She was so beautiful. She weighed in at 6 pounds and 15 ounces and 20 inches long! They let me hold her for quite awhile and I fell in love instantly.
I nursed her on an off for about 1 1/2 hour. She did so well with it and that made me happy!

Parking the truck at the hospital, ready to go have our baby!

39 weeks, let's do this!

Same room we had Remington in. So special!

Proud daddy right there!

Eli gave her her first bath right in our room. I was so happy to be able to video it!

Meeting Grandpa Mallard for the first time.

They moved us in to our recovery room and Patsy brought Miss Remington in to visit.
Oh man, my heart has never been so full as when I saw Remi with Brixton.
I was so scared that I could never love another baby as much as Remi, but I do and it's multiplied by 100 for both of them!

She was such a little cuddle bug and I could not put her down the entire time.
We fell so in love with her!

Eli stayed the first night with me.
The next night, we watched the Spurs play, sitting in the bed together, after we had our yummy stork dinner!
After the game was over, he decided to go and stay at home with Remi the next night.
It was a great bonding time for me and Brixton and I was glad that Remi was able to be at home with daddy!
Here are some beautiful things my mom made for Brixton. So cute on her!

I couldn't get out of the hospotal soon enough!
The next morning, Eli an Remi came to pick me and Brixton up.
My little Remi looked so big, it was sad! But excited to have a new addtion to our family.
Eli got Remi all dressed and did her hair. He even put a cute hairbow in it.
I love this picture of these three!

Remi was so happy to see me. I missed her so much!

We got home without any crying in the car!
It was nice to have Eli home for a couple of weeks to help us adjust to a family of FOUR!
I am so thankful for my 2 girls and wonderful husband.
Sometimes I still can't believe that Brixton is here, but we would feel so lost with out her now.
