Remington--One month old!

On May 26th, Remington turned one month old! I can't believe how quickly time is passing, and all I want to do is snuggle my sweet baby girl! She is doing so well, and she is SO healthy. She is now 9 lbs. and 14 oz.! (Exactly three pounds heavier than when she was born) and she is 20 1/2 inches (and inch longer than when she was born..)
She has been such a GREAT baby, and I really mean that. From the day we brought her home, she has done so well at sleeping through the night. She will go at least 3-4 hours between feedings at night, and lately she has been going 5. Last night she slept from about 10:30 pm to 5:15 am...Don't be JEAL! She is just so good :)
She is starting to smile so much at everyone. Especially when I read her stories. She just starts grinning so big at me. She gets so excited and starts to kick her legs and wiggle all over the place. She makes the cutest sounds like she is trying to talk to us.
She loves her bath time a lot, and still loves her swing and seahorse. She has kept most of her hair since she was born, and I have had so much fun dressing her each day with cute outfits and hair bows. I love painting
her cute little toes to match mine as well.

My favorite part of the day is waking up to her smiling face!
She has truly made me want to be a better person for her!
I love my little stinker bug to pieces.. <3

{Us, lately}

Remington is four weeks old today! Time is really flying by. She is such a good baby. She wakes up every 3-4 and sometimes 5 hours at night! She has been a great eater since day one, and at her 2 week check up she weighed 8 lbs. 12 oz. She likes to try and hold her head up like a big girl and is good at grabbing stuff. Especially during tummy time. We have caught giggles while she sleeps and some smiles when she is awake.

She likes her swing and her favorite toy is her sea horse from BreAnna! She enjoys bath time as well, it has been especially good to do it right before bed. It relaxes her.

Last week we took her to church for the first time.  She was such a good baby and got to hang out with her aunt Hanna and cousins, Gabe, Chandler, and Finley.
She loves going to both of her grandparents houses! It was fun to get her, Chloe, and Willow together. So many girl cousins on the Coon side! She got to go to Grandma and Grandpa Mallard's while me and Eli went on a date to Denny's. She loves to go on walks in her stroller with me almost everyday.

On Monday attempted to take her fishing. Not her favorite, so the trip was cut short, but I know she will learn to love it just like me and her daddy.
Later that evening, we were in charge of monthly FHE on the Coon side. We talked about putting on the "Armor of God" and played with water balloons. We had root beer floats for dessert. We all had a blast!

I have been working on her nursery a little more so pictures to come soon. Eli has been busy planting trees and bushes in the yard. He has made it look so great, and I am so glad to have a yard of our own!

Remi loves riding in the car with me, but yesterday whenever I would stop at a stoplight, she would start crying so hard. As soon as I started going again, she would be completely fine! Little stinker!

We grow to love her more and more everyday! Excited for summertime with our little family!

Newest Addition

Here I am the day before we went into the hospital.
I was definitely starting to get on the very uncomfortable side!

We got up early on Thursday, April 26th, to call EIRMC and see if they had room for me to come in that morning. Sure enough they did, and so we grabbed everything and headed to the hospital.
We arrived at about 6:45 am and started settling in.
Around 8 o'clock, I had my IV in and they started me on the Pitocin.
I started to have small contractions and they kept getting stronger and stronger as the day went on!

Eli was such an amazing support throughout the entire pregnancy, during labor, and now that we are home with baby Remi. I don't know if I could have done this all without him!

My family came in to see how I was doing! It was so good to have them there supporting us.
When I started feeling a lot of pain, I started saying, "I want my mom!" No matter how old you get, moms are always there to comfort us!
Hours passed, and finally I was dilated to a 5. The contractions were starting to be quite painful, and so I decided that it was time for my epidural.
It only numbed my left side at first, and so I could still feel the contractions 100% on my right side.
Not the best, and so they laid me on my right side and eventually it numbed the right side as well.
I couldn't even tell that I was having a contraction unless I looked at the screen.
My blood pressure dropped pretty low as well as the baby's heartbeat and so they had to put me on oxygen. Never in my life have I had so many cords and stuff on me while I was unable to move haha...

I was dilated at a 7 for about 4 1/2 hours...
So all we could do was wait..
and wait..
Good thing that Eli brought his lap top!
Finally Dr. Huggin's came in around 9 o'clock and said that I was finally dilated to a 9.5. Whoo!! It was about time! I didn't start pushing till almost 10 o'clock.

I am greatful that my mother in law was also able to be there and be apart of this amazing experience!

The doctor finally came back, and it was time!!!
I pushed for about 45 minutes. It was quite exhausting to say the least.
Right before the last push, I just started bawling! Everyone was asking "oh no, what's wrong? Are you in pain?"
I just replied that I was just happy and excited to meet my baby girl.

Finally at 10:59, our beautiful little girl,Remington Jo Coon, was welcomed into the world. <3
The moment they placed her on my chest, I felt an immediate bond. I felt the overwhelming feeling that I was supposed to be a mother, and that it was my purpose in this life.

Right when they placed her on my chest, all I could say was "I love you, I love you." Over and over again.
