Bye-Bye truck and SLC getaway

We were able to take a little vacation down to Salt Lake. We were selling Eli's truck to Uncle Bruce and had to drive it down. We decided to make a fun trip and do some shopping, stay in a hotel, and visit Temple Square! I had such a blast taking pictures on Temple Square. the flowers were beautiful and everything thing was so green. You can't even tell that is was a little chilly!

We got to Salt Lake early afternoon and decided to hit up some of our favorite stores. We went to Ross, Rue 21, and then the Gateway Mall! And of course, hit up 2 or 3 D.I.'s (our FAVE!)
We stayed the night in a hotel that looked great online....not so great in person! We walked in and the lamps were all tipped over, there was pencil scribbled all over the walls, we had some scary people hanging out in front of our room (it was outside), and it smelled...different. :)
Honestly though, it didn't matter too much to us. Daily because we didn't have to spend a ton of time there, and because Remington was SO excited. She thought it was the coolest thing ever and had so much fun. We took her pack and play and she slept great all night!
We got up early the next morning, hit up breakfast, and were off to Temple Square.

We had a great time walking around the exhibits that they have and got some more pictures!
Remi toted her blanket around and would randomly lay down and just relax.
(She would die without this scraggly thing! I don't know we will ever get it away from her!)

And here comes my favorite picture ever.
We walked up and were so eager to see Remi's reaction.
She was in awe! She kept pulling at Eli's leg "Jejus! Jejus!"
She walked up very slowly and stopped and stared for a good while.
That little moment brought such peace and warmth to my heart.
Remi loves her savior, I could see it in her eyes. It strengthens my testimony on how close our little ones
really are to him and our Heavenly Father. It also reminded me how grateful I am and should be that he trusted me to be her mommy and Eli her daddy.

Here are a couple more pictures of Remi carrying her blanket around EVERYWHERE! :)

Before we dropped off Eli's truck, we passed a little pond and decided to check it out.
We had some crunched up crackers that we fed to this herd of ducks!
They were more than friendly and willing to eat them all gone for us!
We put Remi down and the ducks surrounded her looking for more food.
It was hilarious to see her panic (mean, I know) and reach for daddy to save her!

We stopped at the City Creek Mall and had a good time eating dinner and doing a little bit more shopping.
Eli spoiled me and Remi, to say the least, and boy was it so much fun!

Remi loved checking out the fish in the creek and all of the cool fountains!
Here is my hunk of a husband! What a handsome daddy he is!! Me and Remi are so lucky and had a BLAST on our little vacation!

Grandma and Grandpa's 60th Wedding anniversary

My grandparents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.
They had a big party at Heise. It was a beautiful evening (Little bit windy, as always in Idaho)
But it turned out great!
My dad and his siblings all got up and took a few minutes to talk about their parents and memories they have had with their parents. Here is 6 of the 9 kids that my grandparents have.

As you can see from this picture, the food was delicious!
Especially the chocolate cake! ;)
(My cousins little cutie, Spencer)

My beautiful grandmother! Della Mallard

A toast to another 60 years grandma and grandpa!

Grandma Mallard THEN & NOW
She is the best grandma I could have asked for.
She is such a hard worker and was a great example of that to me throughout my life.
She always had the prettiest yard and was always out raking, mowing, planting flowers and trees etc.
Grandma always gives by far the best gifts on Christmas and birthdays.
I love her so much.

Grandma and Grandpa's anniversary gift! ;)

Me and my Grandpa Mallard
Some of my best summer memories include flagging for my grandpa.
He would get me and my cousin Carly up at 4:30 am and get us an Alberto's breakfast burrito before heading out to his airstrip. I enjoyed learning from him and listening to his stories those summers.
What grandkid gets to go on rides in her grandpa's airplane every day and even fly it with him?
Grandpa also taught me the value of hard work. He didn't just teach me to work hard, but also to play harder.
He would spoil my cousin and I with lunch and dinner everyday and let us drive his car home everyday (we were 12.....)  :) He would say "Go and do something fun with your money! Live life!
I am so grateful Remington gets to be around my grandpa as well. He always surprises her with little                                         gifts that make her so happy! We love you Grandpa!
