Memorial Day, Yellowstone, & Cousin Camp!

Since I was a little girl, my dad's side of the famiyl always meets up on memorial day and visits family graves and have a BBQ after wards!

Uncle Todd
He would've loved Remington! (Even though I am sure they met!)

My Grandpa Mallard.
I love this guy so much! He is so silly and has the best stories.
I have so many memories with him and he has really taught me so much.

Our last stop was Twim Bridges out by Archer. It is beautiful there. We roasted hot dogs and enjoyed each other's company. Remi thought she was so cool sitting in this chair all by herself!

We had an amazing opportunity to go with some photographers from Eli's work to Yellowstone!
We showed up a little earlier than everyone and so we decided to walk around together and look at the shops. We went here for our Honeymoon but it had been two years.

We got some matching sweatshirts (just like we did when we got married) and ate McDonald's. We played Sudoku in the car while we waited for everyone else to show up.

We drove into the park and found our camp and set up our tents. YES, TENTS! And yes it was the first of May and yes it was 29 degrees that night.
Eli thought he was being smart and said we should share a sleeping bag... halfway through the night, I am on the floor and he is the only one in a sleeping bag. So we switched bag in to our own and slept pretty good...for it only being 29 degrees.

I got a ton of great shots!! I had so much fun driving and hiking looking for animals. We woke up the next morning right when the sun was coming up and got some amazing shots!

Such a fun trip!!!

Next up.... Cousin CAMP!
Becca invited us all to her house for "cousin camp" and Bear Lake the next day.
We painted rocks when we got there and then had some dinner!
Then it was time to float the Bear River...dun dun dun...
It started out great! 6 adults and I think 11 or 12 kids?!
Anyways..It started off great, but about 30 minutes in it started to rain. Then it got super windy as well. We got split up in to 3 groups and just kept going along freezing our buns off!!!
It got to the point where we couldn't really feel and of our limbs, Kailey was having contractions, and shoes had been lost. We saw a farmer and got his attention. He let us hope in his warm truck and took us all home!

Once we got home, we sat around the fire and roasted marshmallows and warmed up! Once the kids were in bed, us adults had home made rhubarb pie and chocolate chip cookies! The best part was when Remington cuddled in bed with me for 2 whole hours (early in the morning) I was so happy because this NEVER happens. She cuddled right up and slept so soundly by me :)

We headed out for Bear lake the next day. We stopped and grabbed food at Broulims and left for the lake. It was a beautiful day! Remi wasn't too fond of the water (until the last 1/2 we were there) but she definitely loved the watermelon and probably ate half of it!
I loved it so much! Definitely need to go at least once a year.
